Dealing with Ants in your Home, Garden or Business

We have several species of ant in the Uk. The most common ones are easy to deal with and eradicate, other species which are of tropical origin can be more difficult and take a little longer.
Ants like sweet things and once they find something in your property they will let the other ants know and before long you can have an infestation. The best way to get rid of all the ants is to find the nest as the ones we see above ground are just workers. The queen will be underground in the nest.

A single colony can range in size from 4000 to 15000 workers. The garden ant is the most common ant we come across in the UK and is dark brown/ black in colour.
